About the Journal

The Ramon Llull Journal of Applied Ethics is a annual multidisciplinary ethical journal published by the Ethos Chair of Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain. We publish scientific reports on applied ethics subjects in the form of original articles. We also accept review articles, special communications and editorials.

All submissions are subject to peer review by the Editorial Board and by referees in appropriate specialties. We will consider for publication manuscripts from any part of the world, but most particularly manuscripts that would be of interest to readers from Europe and United States.

Scope of the journal

Ramon Llull Journal of Applied Ethics only publishes original articles that are aimed at relating ethics to the different areas of public life. Economic and social systems, organisations and professions are studied from an ethical point of view in order to spread the practical dimension of philosophical discourse. Applied ethics offer a new opportunity to continue thinking about the fundamentals, processes and consequences that determine the social sphere and, in this sense, the Journal aims to contribute to current debate by offering quality and academic rigour.

Ramon Llull Journal of Applied Ethics is published one time a year, and all articles are available online as PDF and html. We would like to encourage you to visit our website, consider submitting your work to the journal, and sign up as reviewers.

About the Association

The Ethos Chair is a Chair of Applied Ethics an the University Ramon Llull of Barcelona. We giving suport to all of the ethics research groups that integrate our university, furthermore we carry out a lot of consultancy for companies and public organizations. Our main lines are: the ethics of organizations, the ethics of professions, bioethics, Mass Media Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility and the educational strategies for the divulging of ethical knowledge. Instructions for authors

Ramon Llull Journal of Applied Ethics will publish theoretical and practical texts related to the applied dimension of contemporary ethics.

Language, Length and Abstract. Texts will only be accepted in the English language. The length should not exceed 5,000 words, equivalent to 12-14 A4 pages, with 1.5 line spacing, in Times 12 font. All articles should include a 150 word abstract, accompanied by keywords.

Reviews. Reviews should not exceed 1,500 words.

Details. Articles and reviews will be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae with the author’s personal details and information on his or her main areas of research and key publications.

Citation system. The Harvard system of bibliographic referencing will be used, with explanatory footnotes being permitted. Ramon Llull Journal of Applied Ethics commits to giving its considered response regarding the acceptance or rejection of work sent to the editors within a period of time that will not exceed 30 days. All work will be assessed by at least two members of the advisory committee.

We give the rights to the corresponding author to make necessary changes as per the request of the journal, do the rest of the correspondence on our behalf and he/she will act as the guarantor for the manuscript on our behalf.

All persons who have made substantial contributions to the work reported in the manuscript, but who are not contributors, are named in the Acknowledgment and have given me/us their written permission to be named. If I/we do not include an Acknowledgment that means I/we have not received substantial contributions from non-contributors and no contributor has been omitted.
